Supplier Quality Engineer at SNI Technology Meriden, CT

Our esteemed client is searching for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct supplier assessments/audits to drive process standardization, reduce quality defects, and continuous improvement.
-Maintain records of all supplier assessments/audits utilizing the Approved Vendors List.
-Manage supplier interaction to close observations and findings in a timely manner.
-Inspect, qualify and maintain the approved vendors list which collaborates with procurement team to determine which suppliers are eligible for purchasing material from.
-Monitor, report, and improve supplier quality KPIs.
-Generate and distribute reports to users in the organization, customers, or suppliers.
Essential Duties:
Monitor supplier processes for compliance to company quality assurance requirements.
Assist in writing procedures and work instructions to meet QA policies Work with company departments and personnel to facilitate QA requirements.
Identify areas for improvement.
Identify areas requiring corrective action.
Recommend actions to prevent further non-conformances.
Generate documents for specified contractual or special quality requirements.
Evaluate/research the latest standards and requirements related to the company's products or services.
Perform supplier audits of company departments for compliance to standards and contracts.
Perform external audits, source inspections and first article inspections of suppliers.
Review Contracts for Quality information and Specifications Create and review C of C's from Vendors.
Require suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective/preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues.
Manage the site equipment calibration program.
Assist in performing root cause analysis and/or assist inspection activities.
Support Supplier Corrective Action Reports.

Interface with Purchasing, Accounting and vendors to resolve problems Requirements:
Expertise of Quality Assurance standards and processes.
Demonstrated problem solving ability.
Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments.
Experience writing and updating Quality Inspection Plans.
Experience leading customer audits.
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
Expertise in compliance to ISO 9002:
2015 Standard.
Ability to perform root-cause analysis and/or problem solving using a structured approach.
Ability to work with minimal guidance or supervision.
Lotus Notes / SAP database use skills.
High energy/quick learner.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Detail and quality oriented with good task prioritization skills.
Education/
Experience:
Five years demonstrated experience in a QA environment or 4-year undergraduate degree with 2 years QA experience.
Lead auditor (ISO 9001) training.

Lean Six Sigma training.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
